German ministry says: East Frisians are Frisians
As the West Frisian station "Omrop Fryslân" reported today, the German ministry of the interior confirmed that East Frisians are part of the Frisian ethnic group.

Newspaper: "East Frisians are no Frisians"
East Frisias most read newspaper, Ostfriesen-Zeitung dropped a brick last weekend and wrote "East Frisians are no Frisians", because, and here we go: "Anglo-Saxons are also no Saxons".

Ten thousand East Frisian identity cards
At 21th of January 2008 the East Frisian embassy delivered the 10,000th East Frisian identity card. Thereby, a new milestone is reached only five years after the delivery of the 1000th identity card.

Europäische Sprachencharta: Niedersachsen mit groben Mängeln
Hannover. Ein Expertenkomitee des Europarates hat Deutschland bereist, um sich über den Stand der Umsetzung der Europäischen Charta der Regional- oder Minderheitensprachen zu informieren. Besonderes Augenmerk richteten die Experten dabei auf das Niederdeutsche in Niedersachsen. Ein Treffen mit Vertretern der Niederdeutsch Sprechenden beim Niedersächsischen Heimatbund in Hannover ergab, dass das Plattdeutsche in Niedersachsen zu wenig gefördert wird, um die Sprache langfristig erhalten zu können.
